Peach is the new Pink...

Many of my favorite bloggers have weekly features like "Wednesday's Wishlist", "Thursday Thrills", or "Titillating Tuesday" (well maybe I haven't seen that last one, but it could work), and really all it means is here are some amazing (beauty is in the eye) things that person covets, needs, WANTS.

Anyone who knows me would attest that I have a constantly growing wishlist, and perhaps, instead of buying everything on said wishlist, if I blogged about the items, I would satiate my hunger for 75 peach colored shirts without shelling out hideous amounts of cash. Problem is, 1. I don't have a catchy tag-line, and 2. I am not blogging consistently yet... so I can't promise it will happen weekly, but here is my go at my inaugural insert-catch-phrase shopping list. And just bring this post full circle, enjoy the parade of peach tops that I think are quite fab:

JCrew, you're killing me with all of your gorgeous springy tops:

Vintage canvas bow tank in Light Ginger

And lastly, the Featherweight cashmere rolled-sleeve cardigan in Light Shell, which I don't think is getting near the love it should. It is pricey, yes, but a perfect little cover-up that can go from casual to dressy if need be. I don't own it in this color, but bought the dusty copper, which I love and am getting quite a bit of use out of, and am waiting on the dusty shale to make its way into my grubby little hands...

Next. F21, you will forever be in my wardrobe if you keep offering me such cuties at such primo prices.

I'm not sure about the peasant look (feels rather 2005), but I'm definitely digging this top. Rosettes, peach, and what looks to be a super comfy fit for summer... I'm thinking it could be worth the whopping $24 price tag.

If I didn't already own a few lace pieces, I would easily find some hanger space in my closet for this little gal. Peach lace, exposed back zipper. Cute!

And while this is NOT a top, it is peach, and uber cute. I don't often even try F21 bottoms because their hemlines are too short for my taste (and age), but if you can rock it...

And LOFT, or ATL as I like to call you because you're still part of Ann Taylor in my mind... you also have some lovely peach tops that my mouse keeps lingering over.

Split Neck Shell with Floral Collar is totally adorable, but how does it fit?

The Pleated Square Neck Top. I love you delicate pleats! ATL is calling the peachy color Vanilla - definitely looks more like a blush or peach hue to me.

Ok, and while this is NOT peach, I wanted to share another WTF, someone's lost their mind item... seriously, 700 bucks for a sleeveless top? Jcrew, I love you, I spend way too much money on your cardi's, T's and jewelery, but seriously, this is absurd. Even the model can't hide her "this-stinks" expression. Meet the Deco Scallop Shell. Undoubtedly someone will see the value of this top, just not me.

And that's a wrap.

Building on my last post...

Ok, so I love shoes. I own many, and I still want more. In fact, I own so many I can't even see them all properly to get good use out of them. This is my MO: I'll fall in love with a pair of shoes, scour the internet until I find the best deal on them, and click, they are mine. At some point, I'll remember that pair that I bought and loved. Loved so much I wanted to keep them safe in the box. Then I forgot to wear them for a while because they were tucked away safe in said box... and then I go rummaging to find that amongst my crammed closet. Whatevs. Then I bust them out and wear the crap out of them.

But seriously, let's be clear here, I love shoes for only one reason: fashion.

Today, readers, I stumbled upon an article about a new approach shoe-giant, Adidas is taking, which I copied below for your convenience.

WTF??

Admittedly, I'm not their target audience, so perhaps that's why I find this shoe-that-is-for-walking-AND-playing video-games completely absurd. But after this, what's next? Will I be able to use my new pair of flip-flops to shave my armpits?

Innovation is taking us places I just don't think anyone wanted to go in the first place... but you tell me.

Sporting goods maker Adidas has unveiled a new limited-edition line of sneakers called the "Originals Augmented Reality Game Pack."

This isn't just any `ol sneaker. It actually doubles as a gaming device. So when you get tired off wearing it, just take it off and use the shoe as a controller.

"We were given a challenge a year ago to introduce a product that leverages technology to deliver specific lifestyle benefits to consumers," said Chris Barbour, head of digital marketing for Adidas "Originals" brand. "We we took a pair of our shoes and added a layer of `virtual' experience around it."

The Game Pack features five iconic Adidas "Originals" sneakers - the Superstar, Stan Smith, Forum, Nizza and Samba. Each sneaker has a barcode on the tongue of the shoe. When you hold the barcode in front of a computer web camera, it unlocks the 3D Adidas Originals neighborhood.

The sneaker then becomes a controller that you can use to play a series of interactive games in the virtual neighborhood. There's a laser blaster game, a skateboarding-themed game and a music-based game.

"We don't consider this a gimmick," said Barbour, hinting that Adidas plans to come out with more products, including an iPhone application and clothing that using similar technology.

"Innovation is critical in this economic environment. Consumers want more value in a product even if they don't want to pay more for it," he said. "What's really cool is these sneakers don't cost any more than they typically would have without the technology."

The sneakers are available in the United States at Champs Sports and on Eastbay.com with prices varying from $64.99 to $94.99.

The Inaugural Entry

Where to begin... wow this is a bit intimidating.

I've been a blog-reader for some time, and while keeping up with my favorites, often contemplated as to why I had yet to publish my own. What would I write about? Who would want to read it? I've thrown all those questions to the wind, and now, today, I am a blog-GER.

Part of the challenge was coming up with a name that had the fit (read: pizzazz!) and longevity I needed. After much hemming and hawing on titles, including some about rhubarb and jackals, welcome to my blog, Spilling the Beans. I am an unrepentant spender; I love sifting through the interweb for the latest info or the best deal on my favorite "thing"; and I am happy to share my likes and lessons with friends, family and just about anyone who will listen. Moving forward this will serve as my new medium to issue my opinions, share my experiences and just ramble if the day calls for it. I don't make any promises, we'll have to see how this all unfolds...
